I work as a forward deployed engineer at Super AI in Noida, embedded with pharmaceutical clients to make AI actually land in their world. Agentic systems, NLP-to-SQL workflows, automated executive reporting. About ten percent of the week is spent writing code; the rest goes into sitting with the client, understanding the problem properly, shaping the solution, and owning it until it ships.
The codebase is the small part. The work that decides whether a system ships is the conversation with the person on the other side of it. What they're trying to do, where they get stuck, what they don't say out loud. Forward deployed means owning that path end to end, from the first conversation to the thing running in production.
